  • 1/4 cup red wine vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce

Flavor Boosters

  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar

  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme

Instructions

Preparation

  • In a medium bowl, whisk together soy sauce, olive oil, red wine vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, garlic, Dijon mustard, brown sugar, black pepper, salt, and thyme.
  • Place your steak in a large resealable plastic bag or a shallow dish.
  • Pour the whisked marinade over the steak, making sure the surface is evenly coated.
  • Seal the bag or cover the dish, and refrigerate for at least 2 hours or overnight for best results.
  • Remove the steak from the marinade and grill or pan-sear to your desired doneness, then rest before slicing.

Notes

Marinate at least 2 hours for flavor, up to overnight for maximum tenderness. Pat steak dry before cooking for a good sear and crust. Use high heat for quick searing; finish in the oven if needed for thicker cuts. Store leftover marinade-free steak in the fridge up to 3–4 days. Turn leftover steak into a savory pie filling using the best Irish steak pie technique for a cozy meal.
