Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 1 cup Sugar
  • 1 cup Brown Sugar Can use light or dark brown sugar.
  • 1 cup Butter Melted.
  • 2 cups All-Purpose Flour
  • 1 cup Unsweetened Cocoa Powder Use high-quality cocoa for best results.
  • 4 large Eggs Room temperature is best.
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract Use pure vanilla extract for more flavor.
  • 1 cup Root Beer Any brand will work, but aim for a classic flavor.
  • 1/2 teaspoon Baking Powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 cup Chocolate Chips Choose semi-sweet or dark chocolate.
  • 1 cup Whipped Cream For topping.
  • 1/4 cup Root Beer For drizzling.

Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9x13 inch baking pan.
  • In a large bowl, mix together the melted butter, sugar, and brown sugar until thoroughly combined.
  • Add in the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition, then stir in the vanilla extract and root beer until combined.
  • In another bowl, sift together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
  • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  • Gently fold in chocolate chips until evenly distributed throughout the batter.
  • Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and spread evenly.

Baking

  • Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  • Allow brownies to cool completely before cutting into squares.
  • Serve topped with whipped cream and drizzled with additional root beer.

Notes

Use room temperature eggs to ensure that they blend well with the other ingredients, resulting in a smoother batter. Measure the flour accurately; spoon it into the measuring cup rather than scooping it directly to avoid dense brownies. Experiment with different chocolate chips, such as milk chocolate or dark chocolate, depending on your personal preference.
