Crust

  • 1 package Oreo cookies
  • 1/2 cup butter, melted

Cream cheese layer

  • 16 oz cream cheese, softened Fully soften to avoid lumps
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup cool whip For the cream cheese mixture

Pudding layer

  • 1 cup chocolate pudding mix Use instant for quickest thickening
  • 2 cups milk

Topping

  • 1 cup cool whip Remaining for topping

Preparation

  • Crush the Oreo cookies and mix with melted butter until combined, then press into the bottom of a 9x13 inch dish to form an even crust.
  • In a bowl, beat together the softened cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth and lump-free.
  • Fold 1 cup of cool whip into the cream cheese mixture gently, then spread this layer over the Oreo crust.
  • In another bowl, whisk together the chocolate pudding mix and 2 cups milk until the pudding thickens according to package directions.
  • Spread the thickened chocolate pudding evenly over the cream cheese layer.
  • Top with the remaining cool whip, cover, and refrigerate for at least 4 hours before serving to set.

Notes

Garnish slices with extra crushed Oreos or shaved chocolate for contrast. Serve with a scoop of vanilla ice cream for extra indulgence. Store covered in the fridge for up to 4 days; freeze in portions for longer storage.
