  • 1 block Firm tofu Use extra firm for better texture, if preferred.
  • 2 cups Cooked rice Any variety works, such as jasmine or brown rice.
  • 1 cup Mixed pickled vegetables Carrots, radishes, and cucumbers recommended.
  • 1/4 cup Korean BBQ sauce Choose your preferred brand or make homemade.
  • 1 tablespoon Vegetable oil Can substitute with sesame oil for added flavor.

Garnishes

  • For garnish Green onions Chopped, adds freshness.
  • Optional Sesame seeds Enhances presentation.

Instructions
 

Preparing the Tofu

  • Cut the tofu into cubes and marinate it in the Korean BBQ sauce for at least 15 minutes.

Cooking the Tofu

  • Heat the vegetable oil in a pan over medium heat.
  • Add the marinated tofu to the pan and cook until golden brown on all sides, about 8-10 minutes.

Assembling the Rice Bowl

  • In serving bowls, place a portion of cooked rice.
  • Top with crispy tofu and add pickled vegetables.
  • Garnish with green onions and sesame seeds if desired. Serve immediately.

Notes

Make sure to press the tofu adequately to remove excess moisture, allowing for a firmer texture when cooked. Allow the tofu to marinate for up to an hour for enhanced flavor. Use a non-stick pan to cook the tofu to ensure it doesn’t stick. Experiment with different types of pickled vegetables to customize the bowl to your taste. Serve warm for the best experience.
