Ingredients
  

Protein
  • 8 to 10 pieces boneless skinless chicken thighs
Oil & Sauce
  • 1 tablespoon oil
  • ½ cup BBQ sauce
Spices & Sweetener
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon pepper
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon oregano
  • ½ teaspoon ground mustard
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Pat dry the chicken thighs with a paper towel if needed and transfer to a large mixing bowl.
  2. In the mixing bowl, add the oil, salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, oregano, ground mustard, and brown sugar. Mix until well-coated.
Grilling
  1. Heat the grill to 400°F.
  2. Place the chicken thighs onto the grill, smooth side down. Grill on direct heat for 3 minutes, keeping the grill lid closed.
  3. Open the lid and flip the chicken thighs. Brush generously with BBQ sauce and close the lid for another 3 minutes.
  4. Flip the chicken again, brush the other side, and cook for another minute with the lid closed.
  5. Flip one last time to sear the brushed side for a minute.
  6. Remove the chicken from the grill and let rest for at least five minutes before serving.

Notes

Serve over steamed rice or buttery mashed potatoes. Slice and toss into a salad or make BBQ chicken tacos.
