Ingredients

Veggies
  • 1 pound green beans (fresh or frozen)
Fats & Aromatics
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 shallot shallot, finely chopped
Toppings
  • 1/4 cup almonds, sliced or slivered
  • 1 lemon Juice of 1 lemon
Seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Method

Preparation
  1. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  2. Add the minced garlic and chopped shallot, sautéing until fragrant.
  3. Add the green beans and cook until crisp-tender, about 5-7 minutes.
  4. Stir in the almonds and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until the almonds are golden.
  5. Remove from heat and squeeze lemon juice over the top.
  6. Season with salt and pepper to taste, then serve warm.

Notes

For crisp-tender beans, don’t overcook; start checking at 5 minutes. Use medium heat so garlic and almonds brown gently without burning. If using frozen beans, thaw or add a couple minutes to the cooking time to avoid sogginess.
