Firecracker Cupcakes
Firecracker Cupcakes are a festive chocolate treat infused with colorful sprinkles and topped with creamy frosting, perfect for any celebration.
Ingredients
For the Cupcake Batter
- 1 box Chocolate cake mix Can be replaced with homemade chocolate cake mix.
- 1 cup Water Use milk for a richer flavor.
- 1/2 cup Vegetable oil Can substitute with melted coconut oil.
- 3 large Large eggs Can use egg substitute if desired.
- 1 cup Mini marshmallows Try colored marshmallows for a fun twist.
- 1 cup Red and blue sprinkles Use other colors for different celebrations.
For the Frosting
- 1 cup Butter Unsalted butter is preferred.
- 4 cups Powdered sugar Can use granulated sugar for a crunchier texture.
- 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract Use pure vanilla for best flavor.
- To preference Food coloring (red and blue) Adjust coloring based on your theme.
Instructions
Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a cupcake pan with cupcake liners.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the chocolate cake mix, water, vegetable oil, and eggs. Mix until smooth.
- Fold in the mini marshmallows and sprinkles.
- Fill the cupcake liners about 2/3 full with the batter.
- Bake for 18-20 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Let the cupcakes cool completely.
Frosting
- In another bowl, beat the butter until creamy. Gradually add the powdered sugar and mix well.
- Stir in the vanilla extract and add food coloring to create red and blue frosting.
- Frost the cooled cupcakes with the colored frosting and decorate with additional sprinkles as desired.
Notes
