  • 1/4 cup Chia seeds Helps thicken the jam.
  • 2 tablespoons Honey or maple syrup (optional) Adjust sweetness to your taste.
  • 1 tablespoon Lemon juice Adds brightness to the flavor.

Instructions

Preparation

  • Mash the chopped strawberries in a medium bowl with a fork until they reach your desired consistency.
  • Stir in the chia seeds, honey or maple syrup (if using), and lemon juice.
  • Mix well until combined.
  • Let the mixture sit for about 10-15 minutes, allowing it to thicken as the chia seeds absorb the liquid.
  • Transfer the jam to a jar and store it in the refrigerator for up to two weeks.
  • Serve over toast, oatmeal, yogurt, pancakes, or desserts.

Notes

Choose ripe strawberries for maximum sweetness and flavor. For a smoother jam, blend the mixture after mashing for a few seconds. Enhance the flavor by adding a pinch of salt or a hint of vanilla extract. Allow more resting time if a thicker consistency is desired. Experiment with different berries or fruits for variations.
