  • 8 ounces Pasta (penne or rotini) Any short pasta works well.
  • 1 tablespoon Olive oil Can substitute with vegetable oil.
  • 1 Onion Chopped, a yellow or white onion is best.
  • 3 cloves Garlic Minced.
  • 4 cups Chicken broth Low-sodium is preferred.
  • 1 cup Heavy cream A half-and-half can be used for a lighter option.
  • 1 cup Shredded cheese (cheddar or mozzarella) Choose your favorite melting cheese.
  • Salt and pepper Adjust seasoning according to preference.
  • Chopped parsley For garnish; fresh parsley enhances flavor and presentation.

Instructions

Cook the Kielbasa

  • Heat the olive oil in a large pot over medium heat. Add the sliced kielbasa and cook until browned. Remove the kielbasa from the pot and set it aside.

Sauté Aromatics

  • In the same pot, add the chopped onion and minced garlic. Sauté until the onion is translucent.

Prepare the Pasta

  • Add the pasta and chicken broth to the pot. Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat to a simmer. Cook according to the pasta package instructions until al dente.

Make It Creamy

  • Stir in the heavy cream and cheese, mixing until the cheese is melted and the sauce is creamy.

Combine Ingredients

  • Return the cooked kielbasa to the pot and mix well. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

Serve

  • Serve the dish hot, garnished with chopped parsley.

Notes

Use high-quality kielbasa for the best flavor and texture. Don’t overcook the pasta; it should be al dente for perfect final results. Incorporate seasonal vegetables, such as spinach or bell peppers, to add more nutrients. Ensure the chicken broth is low-sodium to control the overall salt content. Mix different cheeses to create more complex flavors.
