Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 1 whole Fresh pineapple, peeled and sliced into rings Choose ripe but firm fruit; core removed or leave core for sturdiness
  • 2-3 tablespoons Brown sugar (optional) Use light or dark brown sugar; substitute coconut sugar for caramel notes
  • 1/2 to 1 teaspoon Cinnamon (optional) Ground cinnamon adds warmth; use pumpkin pie spice for a bolder profile
  • Juice of 1 Lime juice (optional) Drizzle after grilling for bright acidity; lemon works as a substitute
  • 1-2 tablespoons Honey (optional) Drizzle before serving; maple syrup is a vegan alternative
  • 1 teaspoon Neutral oil (optional, for grill) Brush grates or rings lightly to prevent sticking; use avocado or canola oil

Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat the grill to medium heat.
  • If desired, sprinkle brown sugar and cinnamon on both sides of the pineapple rings.

Cooking

  • Place the rings on the grill and cook for 2-3 minutes on each side, or until grill marks appear and the pineapple is caramelized.
  • Drizzle with lime juice or honey before serving, if desired.

Notes

Choose ripe but firm pineapple for rings that hold shape during grilling. Pat rings dry before adding brown sugar to help the sugar adhere and caramelize. Preheat the grill for at least 10 minutes for better results. Oil the grates lightly to prevent sticking.
