  • 1 pint fresh strawberries, hulled (about 2 cups) Ensure strawberries are dry before dipping.
Chocolate
  • 8 oz bittersweet or semisweet chocolate, chopped (or chocolate chips) Use high-quality chocolate for best results.
  • 1 tbsp coconut oil or butter Optional, for sheen on chocolate.
Custard
  • 2 cups prepared vanilla custard (store-bought or homemade) For homemade, include 1 tsp vanilla extract.
Toppings & Crunch
  • 1/2 cup golden crispy flakes (or crushed cornflakes for texture) Crush right before serving for maximum crunch.
  • mint leaves for garnish Optional for garnish.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Melt the chocolate in a bowl over a pot of simmering water.
  2. Dip fresh strawberries into the melted chocolate and place them on a parchment-lined tray to set.
  3. Prepare the custard according to package instructions or homemade recipe.
Assembly
  1. Once the chocolate has set, spoon the custard into serving cups.
  2. Arrange the chocolate-covered strawberries on top of the custard.
  3. Garnish with golden crispy flakes.
  4. Serve chilled and enjoy!

Notes

Serve in clear glass ramekins or mason jars for presentation. Add extra melted chocolate over the strawberries for drama.
