Ingredients

Base liquids

  • 1 cup milk (dairy or plant-based)
  • 1/2 cup brewed coffee, cooled Use cold, fully cooled coffee to avoid watering down the drink.

Ice & texture

  • 1 cup ice Adjust ice amount for thickness.
  • 2 tablespoons vanilla bean ice cream or vanilla bean paste For extra richness, swap half the milk for half-and-half or add one tablespoon of condensed milk.

Sweetener & toppings

  • 2 tablespoons sugar (optional) Adjust to taste.
  • Whipped cream (optional, for topping) Top with whipped cream if desired.

Instructions

Preparation

  • In a blender, combine the milk, ice, cooled coffee, vanilla bean ice cream or vanilla bean paste, and sugar. Blend until smooth and creamy.
  • Blend on high for 20–30 seconds until the mixture is frothy and evenly smooth.
  • Taste and adjust sweetness or vanilla intensity; add an extra 1/2 tbsp sugar or a dash more vanilla if desired.
  • If needed, blend briefly again (5–10 seconds) after adjusting.
  • Pour into a chilled glass to keep it cold longer.
  • Top with whipped cream if desired and sprinkle a light dusting of cocoa or instant coffee for garnish.
  • Serve immediately and enjoy!

Notes

For a mocha version, add 1 tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder and an extra tsp sugar to the blender. For a boozy twist, add 1 oz coffee liqueur or vodka for an adult dessert cocktail. Make a caffeine-free version with decaf coffee.
