Ingredients

Dairy
  • 1 cup cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
Baking
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
Flavor
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup fruit jam (your choice) Use any jam you prefer

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, butter, and sugar until smooth.
  3. Gradually add the flour and salt, mixing until a dough forms.
  4. Divide the dough into two equal portions and roll each into a rectangle on a floured surface.
  5. Spread jam evenly over each rectangle, then roll the dough tightly into pinwheels and cut into slices.
  6. Place pinwheels on the prepared baking sheet and bake for 12-15 minutes or until lightly golden. Allow to cool before serving.

Notes

Keep cream cheese and butter softened but not melted for easy mixing. Chill the rolled dough briefly if it gets too soft before slicing. Use a sharp knife or dental floss to cut clean pinwheels without squashing. Store in an airtight container at room temperature for 1-2 days, or refrigerate up to 5 days.
