Ingredients
Method
Make the crust
- In a bowl, combine crushed chocolate cookies and melted butter. Press mixture into the bottom of a 9×13 inch dish to form the crust.
Prepare the cream layer
- In another bowl, beat together the cream cheese and powdered sugar until smooth. Fold in 1 cup of whipped topping. Spread this mixture over the cookie crust.
Mix the pudding
- In a separate bowl, whisk the chocolate pudding mix with milk until thickened. Pour this over the cream cheese layer and spread evenly.
Add the topping
- Top with the remaining whipped topping, spreading gently to cover the pudding layer.
Chill to set
- Chill in the refrigerator for at least 4 hours or until set.
Garnish and serve
- Before serving, garnish with chocolate shavings or chips if desired.
Notes
Use softened cream cheese for a lump-free cream layer. Press the crust firmly so it holds together when sliced. Chill at least 4 hours or overnight for clean slices and best flavor. Add fresh raspberries or strawberries for brightness and drizzle a little caramel or chocolate sauce for extra decadence.
