  • 1 lb smoked sausage, sliced Choose a smoked sausage variety you enjoy.
  • 2 lbs potatoes, washed and cubed Cut into even sizes for even cooking.
  • 1 small onion, diced (optional) Adds extra flavor if desired.

For the Flavor

  • 1 packet (1 oz) ranch dressing mix
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1 tbsp butter, melted

For the Topping

  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese Feel free to customize with other cheese types.
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper

For Garnish

  • Chopped chives or green onions for serving

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • Wash and cube the potatoes.
  • In a large bowl, combine the potatoes, sliced smoked sausage, ranch dressing mix, shredded cheddar cheese, sour cream, melted butter, salt, and pepper. If desired, add diced onion for extra flavor.
  • Pour the mixture into a greased casserole dish.

Cooking

  • Bake for 30-40 minutes, or until the potatoes are tender and the top is golden brown.
  • Serve hot and enjoy!

Notes

Pair these potatoes with a green salad for a balanced meal or use as filling for wraps. Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. To make ahead, prepare in advance and refrigerate before baking.
