Ingredients

For the Cookie Base

  • 1 cup Unsalted Butter (browned) Can use regular unsalted butter but browning enhances flavor.
  • 3/4 cup Brown Sugar Dark brown sugar adds a richer flavor.
  • 3/4 cup Granulated Sugar Balance with brown sugar for texture.
  • 2 cups All-Purpose Flour (or gluten-free blend) Gluten-free blend works well as an alternative.
  • 1 teaspoon Baking Soda Essential for leavening, making cookies rise.
  • 1/2 teaspoon Salt Enhances overall flavor.
  • 2 teaspoons Chai Spices (cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg) Or adjust to taste for your preferred spice level.

For the Mix-ins

  • 1 cup White Chocolate Chips Can substitute with dark chocolate for a richer taste.
  • 1/2 cup Toffee Bits (or caramel pieces) Toffee provides a great crunch and flavor.
  • 1 cup Pecans (toasted, walnuts, or almonds) Toast nuts for enhanced flavor and texture.

Instructions

Preparation

  • Gather all your ingredients to ensure a smooth baking experience.
  • In a saucepan, melt the unsalted butter over medium heat, cooking until it turns golden brown and has a nutty aroma. Set aside to cool slightly.

Mixing

  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the brown sugar and granulated sugar. Pour in the browned butter and mix until well combined.
  • Add your eggs to the sugar-butter mixture, mixing until fully incorporated.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, salt, and chai spices. Gradually add this to the wet ingredients.
  • Fold in the white chocolate chips, toffee bits, and toasted pecans until evenly distributed.

Chilling and Baking

  • Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and chill the dough in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes.
  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) while the dough chills.
  • Line baking sheets with parchment paper. Using a cookie scoop, drop dough onto the prepared sheets, leaving space between each cookie.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown but the centers are still soft.
  • Allow cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

Tips: Brown the butter carefully for the best taste, chill the dough to prevent spreading, and maintain uniform sizes for even baking. Store leftover cookies in an airtight container to maintain their delightful crunch.
