Ingredients

For the Base

  • 6 cups Cold water Use filtered or bottled water for best taste.
  • 1 cup Granulated sugar You can adjust sweetness to your preference.

For the Lemonade

  • 4 Juicy limes Fresh limes yield the best flavor.
  • ½ cup Sweetened condensed milk A key ingredient for creaminess; can use coconut milk for a dairy-free version.
  • To taste Ice Use large ice cubes to keep the drink from diluting quickly.

Instructions

Preparation

  • Mix the cold water and sugar in a large bowl, stirring until dissolved. Chill until ready to use.
  • Wash and cut the limes into eighths.
  • Blend half the lime pieces with half the chilled water-sugar mixture for about five pulses.
  • Strain through a fine mesh sieve into a pitcher; discard pulp.
  • Repeat the blending and straining with the remaining ingredients.
  • Just before serving, add ice and stir in the sweetened condensed milk.

Notes

Ensure your limes are fresh and juicy for the best flavor. Chill the water-sugar mixture for at least 30 minutes for optimal refreshment. When blending, avoid over-pulsing to keep the drink smooth. Keep your ice cubes large to prevent rapid dilution of the lemonade. Consider garnishing with extra lime slices or mint leaves for an appealing presentation.
