Beef and Broccoli Stir-Fry

  • 1 pound Flank steak Sliced thinly against the grain for tenderness
  • 2 cups Broccoli florets Fresh or frozen can be used
  • 2 tablespoons Vegetable oil Can substitute with canola or peanut oil
  • 3 cloves Garlic Minced for a robust flavor
  • 1 teaspoon Fresh ginger Grated for optimal flavor release
  • 1/4 cup Soy sauce Use low-sodium for a healthier option
  • 1 tablespoon Oyster sauce Adds depth to the sauce
  • 1 tablespoon Cornstarch Used for thickening the sauce
  • 1/4 cup Beef broth Enhances the meaty flavor
  • Salt and pepper To taste

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • In a bowl, mix the soy sauce, oyster sauce, cornstarch, and beef broth. Set the mixture aside.
  • Heat vegetable oil in a large pan over medium-high heat.

Cooking

  • Add the flank steak to the pan and stir-fry until browned, about 2-3 minutes. Remove beef from the pan and set aside.
  • In the same pan, add broccoli, garlic, and ginger. Stir-fry for 2-3 minutes until broccoli is tender.
  • Return the cooked steak to the pan and pour the sauce over it. Cook for an additional 2 minutes until the sauce thickens.
  • Season the stir-fry with salt and pepper to taste. Serve hot.

Notes

Slice the flank steak against the grain for tenderness. Preheat your pan well. Use fresh broccoli for best results. Avoid overcrowding the pan while cooking beef.
